<p>The management of Red Sea University recently hosted an honorary lunch at the picturesque Biya Kulule resort in Bosaso. This event was organized to mark the culmination of several intensive days of training conducted by the Global Health Alliance Champions team, serving as both a day of relaxation and an opportunity for open discussion among peers.</p>


<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A Day of Appreciation and Dialogue</h2>


<p>The atmosphere at Biya Kulule was one of gratitude and camaraderie. Representatives from both Red Sea University and the Global Health Alliance took the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations, deepening partnerships and sharing insights gained during the training sessions. The setting offered the perfect backdrop for informal dialogue, fostering mutual respect and understanding.</p>

<p>The Country Director of Global Health Alliance, representing both the organization and their dedicated team, expressed profound appreciation for the hospitality extended by the university&#8217;s leadership. His remarks highlighted the value of the interaction, acknowledging the hospitality and the fruitful discussions held over the course of the event.</p>


<p>Such gestures of collaboration underline the commitment of both entities towards advancing global health education and fostering environments where knowledge and expertise can be shared freely.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Improving Understanding of Newborn Care</h2>


<p>Rumaan Mahamud Ahmed, a diligent participant from the ENC 1 &#038; 2 training sessions, has shared valuable insights from her experience. Through this training, her understanding of newborn care has significantly deepened. One of the key aspects she highlights is the importance of immediate actions post-birth, such as securing the infant&#8217;s breathing and ensuring their warmth. This knowledge is crucial as maintaining a newborn&#8217;s body temperature and respiratory function are vital factors for a healthy start to life.</p>


<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Emphasizing Early Breastfeeding</h2>


<p>The training also underscored the importance of early breastfeeding, a practice known to boost both the baby&#8217;s immunity and mother-baby bonding. Rumaan learned how early attachment to breastfeeding can drastically improve newborn health outcomes. This practical knowledge empowers healthcare providers to advocate for and support breastfeeding right from birth, contributing to lower rates of infant illnesses and deaths.</p>


<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Recognizing and Responding to Danger Signs</h2>


<p>One of the critical skills Rumaan acquired through this training was the ability to recognize signs of distress and potential danger in newborns. This ability allows caregivers to act promptly, potentially saving lives by reducing the risk of severe complications. With these skills, Rumaan feels equipped to provide proper and timely care, ensuring the wellbeing of both the baby and mother.</p>


<p>The insights gained from the ENC 1 &#038; 2 training will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on Rumaan&#8217;s professional journey, enabling her to support and advocate for healthier practices in newborn care within her community.</p>
